NT WorkSafe
is a division of the Attorney-General's Department and is responsible for assisting business and workers understand their obligations under work health and safety, dangerous goods, electrical safety and workers compensation legislation across the Northern Territory.
As a
Manager Electrical Safety,
you are responsible for providing leadership and management to the electrical safety team, ensuring compliance to the NT WorkSafe Strategic Plan and addressing safety concerns, triaging incidents and assigning team members.
Your key duties will involve regulating all industries with respect to electrical safety, working collaboratively with the leadership team to inform, set and drive the strategic direction and provide technical and administrative advice to the Electrical Safety Regulator and Work Health Authority. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the preparation of accurate, well-researched and thorough recommendations, reports and briefing papers, reviewing decisions made by inspectors and providing feedback on the application of legislation.
To be successful, you require demonstrated ability to lead and manage resources, both human and financial with a regulatory framework, knowledge of legislation, industry profiles and technical standards, supported by a sound understanding of national and local electrical issues and regulatory initiatives. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, experience interacting effectively with people from different cultures is essential.
Relevant qualifications in WHS, Project Management and an Unrestricted Electrical Mechanic's licence will be well received.
