Job Description
* Cook – Aged Care**
* Crewe Sharp Nursing Agency**
Locations: Malanda, Innisfail, Homehill Crewe Sharp Nursing Agency is currently seeking experienced and reliable Cooks to support aged care facilities across regional Australia. This role is responsible for preparing nutritious meals for elderly residents while maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with aged care requirements. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working within a team environment and has a genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing of older Australians.
### About the Role The successful applicant will be responsible for:
* Preparing and cooking meals in accordance with menu plans and dietary requirements
* Assisting with texture modified and special dietary meals
* Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards within the kitchen
* Monitoring food storage, stock rotation and temperature records
* Working collaboratively with kitchen and care staff
* Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety and infection control procedures
### Essential Requirements Applicants must have:
* Minimum 1 year experience working as a Cook, Commercial Cook or Kitchen Cook
* Knowledge of food safety and infection control standards
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Strong communication and time management skills
* Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain
* Current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain
### Highly Regarded
* Experience in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or commercial catering environments
* Experience preparing meals for culturally diverse residents
* Understanding of special dietary requirements within aged care
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
### Employment Details
* Full-time positions available
* Minimum average of 38 hours per week
* Rotating roster that may include weekends and public holidays
* Hourly rate between $32.00 and $38.00 plus applicable penalties and superannuation
* Contracts available for up to 4 years subject to operational requirements
