. CJC03 is an established team seeking a
MTN Project Engineering Manager
to contribute to a high-performing, collaborative engineering environment.
The successful candidate will manage
CJC03 engineering activities
on behalf of Product and Fleet Managers. The role requires regular engagement with a broad range of Defence stakeholders and contractors, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and operate autonomously (commensurate with engagement level).
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Perform critical and complex engineering activities within CJC03, including ECPs, CCBs and SSWGs, liaising with Defence stakeholders and managing below-the-line contractors to obtain and provide engineering advice, under broad direction of the CJC03 Engineering Manager.
* Exercise assigned engineering authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority (TRA) delegations in accordance with the LMSM.
* Apply engineering knowledge and experience to identify issues and uncertainties and incorporate these into planning, decision-making, and priority setting.
* Demonstrate electronics and electrical engineering knowledge and provide advice and recommendations on the development and advancement of established engineering principles, techniques, methods, and regulations.
* Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in teamwork, and motivate and mentor developing engineers.
* Tailor communication style and language to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders.
* Assess technical and design packages, including scoping, planning, and review activities; provide recommendations and contribute to implementation actions.
* Evaluate delivered materiel to ensure compliance with requirements and legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks; provide recommendations and support implementation of corrective actions.
* Monitor and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are incorporated into electronics and electrical engineering activities.
* Manage workflows and resources, and prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
Skills & Experience Required
Mandatory
* Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian university or a qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
* Qualifications in Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, Military Systems, Computer Systems, or ICT Engineering.
* Experience working on Defence Sustainment projects.
* Previous Defence experience.
* Experience with Tactical Data Links or secure communications systems within a military environment.
Desirable
* Full Member of Engineers Australia.
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or experience sufficient to obtain CPEng through Engineers Australia or an affiliated international body.
* Cisco certification (CCNA / CCNP).
* Experience providing engineering support to medium to large ICT networks, including design and network delivery.
* Experience and/or familiarity with E&IG processes.
* Experience implementing containerised ICT systems.
