This is **Full time, permanent job opportunity** to build a career as **Maintenance Supervisor **in **South Dynon Lite (Melbourne), VIC.**
**Purpose**
Maintenance Supervisors provide overall management of maintenance work on VLine rollingstock at the South Dynon Lite facility with the aim of ensuring the fleet is running efficiently, safely, and abiding by relevant industry standards. In order to maintain consistently high standards of quality assurance, all of the duties outlined in this position description require due care in completion and attention to quality at all times.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the organisation and direction of workforce to perform maintenance operations in accordance with instructions, schedules and quality requirements.(i.e., Quality checks, tool box meetings, etc.).
- Oversee the coordination of plant, equipment and tools to meet facility load requirements.
- Provide shop floor information for monitoring and motivating the progress of maintenance activities.
- Develop operational initiatives for the maintenance operation.
- Provide supervision of maintenance staff in their area. This includes management of "soft" issues (i.e. morale, housekeeping, attendance, punctuality, work ethic, discipline, holidays & cover etc.). Highlight staff/resource requirements to the VLM Fleet Manager.
- Ensure maintenance workforce compliance with EH&S policies and ensure accident reporting is done promptly and completely.
- Other duties as delegated by South Dynon Lite Fleet Manager and Maintenance Operations Manager.
**Key Requirements**:
- Qualified in relevant trade (electrical, mechanical or car body)
- Track Safety Awareness
- 8+ years' experience working in rollingstock maintenance
- Satisfactory pass of Rail Safety Medical
- Flexibility in working hours (roster arrangement)
- Interest in the rail industry
