We're seeking a dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team in the Pilbara region.
The successful applicant will work alongside carer families in their homes to provide regular in-home support, including assistance with daily tasks and emotional support. They will also assist carers to access community groups and activities, and provide ongoing assessment and reporting to case managers.
This is a full-time fixed-term opportunity based in Karratha within our intensive family support program.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide in-home support to carer families, including assistance with daily tasks and emotional support
* Assist carers to access community groups and activities
* Conduct ongoing assessments and report to case managers
Requirements:
* A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values
* An appropriate qualification and/or experience in the human services or related discipline
* Demonstrated ability in working as part of a team
* Knowledge of vulnerable children, young people and families, including an understanding of the impact of trauma, attachment and child development
* Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively and with the capacity to liaise with other agencies and the community
* An understanding of the child protection and the out-of-home care service system
