**The Role**
As the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Contract Manager, you will work within a small Product Support Unit (PSU) of specialists providing contract management, engineering and training governance and assurance oversight of the key Navy and Army aircrew training capability.
Some of the key duties of this role are:
- Contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Provision of advice, direction, assistance and services for procurement policy, commercial, legal, financial investigation and other requirements to support contract management outcomes.
- Contract related documentation including templates, correspondence, reports, submissions, plans and strategies, risk and performance reviews, contract change proposals and other contract management documentation.
- Engaging and negotiating with clients and stakeholders to respond to complex enquiries and contract management issues, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action where necessary.
- Building and sustaining productive relationships with staff and team members and actively participating in team work and group activities.
- Initiating and recommending mitigation strategies for the risks associated with contract management activities, supplier's performance and compliance with mandatory requirements and suggesting relevant improvement.
- Seeking, interpreting and providing advice and assistance on complex procurement and contract management issues.
- Monitoring and managing contract administration, performance and risks against contracts and contributing to appropriate action.
- Provide advice on export control and developing export control documentation.

The HATS PSU is part of the Navy Aviation System Program Office (NASPO) and this small team efficiently, effectively and ethically manages the support for the HATS capability for both Navy and Army.
