Key Responsibilities
- Support grid connection applications for utility-scale and commercial BESS projects across Australia
- Coordinate and manage generator performance standards (GPS) and compliance requirements
- Review power system studies including: Load flow analysis. Short circuit studies, Dynamic/RMS modelling, Harmonic analysis, PSCAD and PSS E studies
- Liaise with AEMO, NSPs, consultants, and EPC contractors throughout the connection approval process
- Support R1, R2, R3 modelling and commissioning requirements
- Assist with plant performance validation and compliance testing activities
- Review and interpret technical standards, network requirements, and connection agreements
- Support development of grid‐compliant battery system architectures and technical solutions
- Provide technical support during tendering, project execution, commissioning, and operational phases
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering
- 4 - 8 years of experience in power systems, renewable energy, or BESS projects
- Strong understanding of the Australian grid connection process and AEMO requirements
- Experience with power system modelling tools such as: PSCAD, PSS E, PowerFactory, ETAP
- Knowledge of utility-scale battery systems, solar farms, wind farms, or hybrid renewable projects
- Understanding of GPS negotiation and compliance processes
- Familiarity with inverter-based resources and grid‐forming/grid‐following technologies highly regarded
- Experience working with NSPs, AEMO, developers, EPCs, or OEMs preferred
