Are you a skilled Product Designer / Draftsperson with a passion for creating precise technical drawings and documentation? We are seeking a talented individual to join a dynamic team in the Defence Manufacturing space. In this role, you will support our product team by transforming engineering concepts into detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software. Your expertise in design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes will be crucial in ensuring the products meet industry standards and specifications.
Your new role
* Technical Drawing & Drafting: Create and manage detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
* Design Support & Collaboration: Work closely with product design engineers to refine designs, develop structural layouts, and ensure drawings align with engineering calculations and safety standards.
* Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of design changes, prepare technical documentation, and ensure all drawings meet aerospace regulatory requirements.
* Quality Control & Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of designs, support prototype development, and solve manufacturability issues.
What you'll need to succeed
* Diploma or Associate's degree in Drafting, Aerospace Engineering Technology, or a related field.
* NV1 Clearance or ability to obtain (Australian citizenship is essential).
* 5+ years of experience in aerospace or mechanical drafting.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
* Understanding of materials, fabrication techniques, and assembly processes.
Desirable:
Experience with aerospace structures and components.
Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100, MIL-STD, or FAA regulations.
