We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced warehouse manager to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, specifically within a bonded warehouse environment, and will be familiar with the regulations and requirements of the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS). Our client is a specialist Australian International Freight Forwarder with locations in Europe, the US, and Australia.
Due to retirement, an opportunity has become available for the position of Warehouse Manager located in Derrimut. About the role:
This role will see you oversee daily operations within the bonded warehouse, ensuring compliance with all regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
1. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Maintain and enforce AQIS regulations, ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments comply with legal requirements.
2. Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts and proper storage conditions.
3. Manage and mentor warehouse staff, promoting a positive work environment and fostering professional growth.
4. Implement and maintain safety protocols, ensuring a secure and hazard-free working environment.
5. Liaise with clients and customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
6. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
About you:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse management role, with specific experience in freight forwarding and bonded warehouse operations.
2. In-depth understanding of AQIS regulations and requirements.
3. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficient in warehouse management software and other relevant technological tools.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
