Manager Business Unit 5D

Corrective Services NSW

Francis Greenway Correctional Complex

Location – Berkshire Park

Employment type – Ongoing, Full time

Salary – $142,961 plus superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

Lead the day-to-day performance of the Business Unit(s), planning and overseeing operations that deliver high-quality services and products to CSNSW and clients while meeting productivity, efficiency and commercial targets. You'll champion safety and quality standards, ensure customer needs are consistently met, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders

As part of this role, the successful candidate must be able to manage, plan, control and develop local business opportunities, internal office/building fit outs and construction projects, including design, service and educational activities for inmates.

What you'll do

* Lead Business Unit performance and coach staff through regular feedback, development and performance conversations.
* Balance inmate management and training with commercial targets and quality outcomes.
* Ensure staff contribute to case management through the Work Readiness Program.
* Recognise and promote inmate contributions to productivity, safety and continuous improvement.
* Maintain duty of care and ensure compliance with CSNSW/CSI policies, procedures and probity requirements.
* Build stakeholder partnerships, identify local opportunities, and promote CSI capability to support growth.
* Manage resources and budgets to deliver planned outcomes.
* Create and maintain a safe workplace for staff, contractors, inmates and visitors in line with WHS legislation.

What we're looking for

Qualifications Required

* Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice
* Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to drive while performing the role
* Relevant trade qualification in Building and Construction (or related trade)

Experience Required

* Proven post-trade experience managing construction projects
* Experience demonstrating the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities outlined in the role description
* Ability and willingness to work across various trades as required
* Ability to work away from home at short notice and for extended periods
