Our Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) Non-Financial Risk and Conduct team is responsible for the management of non-financial risk for IB&M's global operations across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. This includes the identification and assessment of key risks that could affect the way in which the IB&M business achieves its objectives and ensuring these are mitigated as appropriate.
The Non-Financial Risk and Conduct team is responsible for developing the non-financial risk strategy and supporting the business to proactively reduce risk exposure in the business in the context of IB&M's risk appetite. The Non-Financial Risk and Conduct team is the central conduit between the business, Line 2 risk and regulators.
**Do work that matters**
Reporting into the Senior Manager, Supplier Risk Management, you'll be responsible for supporting the IB&M business in proactively managing the risks associated with our supplier arrangements both domestically and internationally, and supporting the business comply with all relevant internal policy and regulatory obligations.
**Your day could look like;**
- Ensure new suppliers to IB&M are managed in line with the Supplier Lifecycle Framework (SLF) and ensure activities are appropriately completed in collaboration with Line 2 risk and compliance, Group Supplier Risk partners and Group Procurement
- Ensure risk assessments for existing suppliers are maintained and refreshed on a regular basis in line with the SLF and adequately assess the risks and controls associated with 3rd party including outsourced activities
- Risk assessments are approved in accordance with the SLF and any issues requiring remediation are appropriately managed and tracked to completion
- Work with business owners, IB&M international branches and Group Supplier Risk partners to ensure appropriate governance and monitoring of outsourced activities
- Identify areas for remediation and ensure the Group's issues management framework is applied where required
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise to IB&M domestic and international businesses on the Group Supplier Lifecycle Framework and other internal and external supplier-related requirements
- Provide specialist advice on the effective design of controls for suppliers. Drive consistency in how risk profiles, risks, controls, mitigation strategies and issues are articulated, documented and assessed across all suppliers and locations within IB&M
- Partner with all relevant Group teams (Procurement, Compliance, Technology, Privacy, Legal, Cyber, Financial Crimes etc.) to ensure timely delivery of the required supplier risk assessments.
- Draft packs and papers for relevant governance forums to provide oversight and insights on key supplier risks across IB&M
- Develop and conduct communication and training to increase awareness in relation to supplier risk management
- Champion and drive a continuous improvement mindset that optimises the risk culture of the business when it comes to supplier risk management

- Ability to develop constructive working relationship and effectively manage a large and varied stakeholder group at all levels of seniority across IB&M, its business partners and the Group
- Ability to identify / analyse key risks / threats and opportunities, diagnose problems and issues and recommend appropriate actions
- Sound organisational and project management skills
- Capacity to work in a busy and agile environment with the ability to meet objectives / targets while delivering outstanding service
- Understanding of financial markets and the institutional banking industry a plus
- Confidence and ability to work independently
