The Opportunity
Reporting to the State Manager, the Transport Manager will oversee and optimise all aspects of transport operations, ensuring safety, compliance, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
This role is best suited for someone who demonstrates the skills necessary to manage complex fleet management, lead teams and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Leadership and commitment to the safety of all people affected by our operations
Deliver exceptional, cost-effective customer service including managing the customer / client interface
Liaise with internal and external senior management and stakeholders
Lead, manage and motivate your team for optimal outcomes
Oversee various transport operations – interstate road & rail and local distribution
Apply process improvement and change management
Control finances, own P&L, analyse KPI measurements and report
Handle HR matters at first contact, including ER / IR matters
Understand Chain of Responsibility, WHS / OHS, NHVL and heavy-vehicle regulations and obligations
Success Profile
Relevant and proven experience in a senior transport / logistics leadership role or equivalent
Demonstrated inspirational leadership with highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including effective engagement, negotiation and influencing ability
