Working closely with the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Nurse assists in ensuring the delivery of effective care services based on our philosophy of individualised person centered care and support, and contributes to making resident life meaningful. This includes the provision of clinical and allied health interventions, support and education to staff and ensures the individual needs of residents within the care facility are met and compliance with ANNAC and Accreditation requirements. The Clinical Nurse is able to function in more complex situations while providing support and direction to Registered Nurse and other non-registered nursing staff. Your responsibilities will include:
Ensures compliance with the ACQSC standards Has delegation authority and provides leadership to Registered and Enrolled Nurses and Care Partners Coordinates effective assessment, planning, delivery and ongoing evaluation of care and services to residents in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. Will act in the Clinical Manager role (higher duties) in the absence of the CM Works collaboratively with the multi-diciplinary team and GP's to ensure best outcomes for the resident. Undertakes direct care to residents. Act in an advisory and educational capacity in relation to all aspects of clinical resident care. Assess, review and mentor registered and enrolled nurses in the area of wound care. Oversee medication safety within the aged care home including following up within Bestmed Oversee correct protocols for infection prevention and control throughout the facility. Ensures quality care in line with professional and ethical nursing practice is provided to residents. Participates and collaborates with the ANNAC officer to ensure effective, accurate documentation relating to the ANNAC funding tool Actively participates in quality activities that ensure the provision of excellent resident outcomes including compliance with accreditation standards. Work in accordance with Baptistcare's Code of Conduct. Ensure safe and sound work practices that comply with Work, Health and Safety policies and procedures and relevant legislation Skills, Attributes, Experience and Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse. Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills. Appreciation and practical demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team. Sound understanding of care assessment in the Aged Care Sector and use of the ANNAC Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Sound understanding of relevant legislation and experience in meeting Australian Aged Care Quality Standards and Outcomes. Demonstrated understanding of the person-centered approach in aged care. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a wide range of IT applications. Commitment to providing a customer centric approach.
