Primary objective
Provide sound advice, support and coordination of operational, business and corporate management issues and assist the Regional Director in
managing, reporting and delivering services across the Barkly Region. Assist with the accurate and timely flow of information between Directors,
senior executive staff, onsite Departmental staff and key stakeholder groups. and provide an operational oversight of the day-to-day activities
and management of the Barkly Regional Office.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level advice on and coordinate the development of business plans, budgets, financial systems and corporate reporting
requirements for the Barkly Region.
2. Contribute and efficiently manage corporate operational requirements; including operational contracts, fleet vehicles, operational
procurement, WHS requirements and provide a single point of contact for all onsite operational matters.
3. Provide coordination, quality control and preparation of correspondence including Legislative Assembly Briefs, Ministerial’s, Cabinet
Submissions, media briefs, legal advice requests, general correspondence, reports, and visual presentations, ensuring responses are made in
a timely and appropriate manner.
4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with all levels of staff within the Department, external agencies and outside organisations,
particularly regional stakeholders and provide leadership and management to the Business Service Unit.
5. Provide executive level assistance to the Barkly Regional Office including financial management, travel arrangements and records
management and provide support to the regional team including training, recruitment, onboarding and HR matters.
6. Represent the Department at interagency and external meetings as required.
7. Provide support to the region in the event of Emergency Response.
Selection criteria
Essential

Desirable
1. Certificate IV or similar in contract and project administration, finance or business administration.
2. Degree in business studies or relevant experience.
