About The Role
The Team Leader Health & Safety Operations provides leadership and expert guidance to ensure the City of Melbourne meets its obligations under the OHS Act 2004 (Vic) and delivers safe, sustainable, and compliant workplaces.
Leading a team of Health & Safety Business Partners, you'll oversee the Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS), drive risk management, incident response, governance, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Working closely with the Head of Health & Safety, business leaders, and PCS colleagues, you'll strengthen safety capability, embed safe practices, and champion a proactive, positive safety culture aligned with our values.
You will lead proactive safety operations: identify and control hazards, partner with leaders and employees on risk mitigation, and support incident response and improvement. Through coaching frontline leaders, you'll build trust and accountability - so everyone goes home safe, every day.

About You
* Demonstrated experience in health and safety management within a complex, high-risk or multi-site environment.
* Strong background in safety, culture uplift and leadership coaching.
* Proven ability to build trusted relationships with leaders across diverse operational and corporate environments.
* Extensive experience in incident reporting, investigations, and debriefs.
* Proven track record in business unit risk identification and management.
* Ability to identify incident trends, provide analysis, and deliver business recommendations.
* Experience conducting workplace inspections and engaging effectively with HSRs and leaders at all levels.
