Looking for something more than just labouring? Ready to step up?
You've been on the tools, onsite, and in the thick of it, but haven't moved up where you are. Now you want to move beyond following instructions and take ownership of projects as a leader.
Nexstage is ready to help you take the next step with two Project Manager roles tailored for those with hands-on experience in construction, scaffolding, staging, rigging, or any other fast-paced industry where getting things built, moved, or delivered under pressure is your game.
Who We Are
At Nexstage, we don't just build stages, we turn bold ideas into unforgettable experiences. From packed music festivals to innovative corporate activations, our setups power some of Australia's most memorable live events. Our team is made up of hardworking, hands-on problem solvers and creatives who embrace challenges. We're proud to push the boundaries of event delivery with speed, safety, and professionalism.
About the Role - Ready to step up? We know you are
As a Project Manager at Nexstage, you'll take the lead on delivering small to large live events, from initial planning right through to pack-down. You'll oversee crews, gear, timelines, and safety, making sure every show runs smoothly and professionally.
This isn't a suit-and-tie management job. It's for someone who knows the ground-level work and is ready to lead it. We're looking for a crew boss, site lead, or operator who understands construction, rigging, scaffolding, or logistics, knows how to keep projects moving under pressure, and is willing to learn and adapt as the job evolves.
You'll plan ahead, stay calm on site, and be the link between clients, crew, and operations.
If you're organised, switched-on, and ready to own your projects, this is your next move.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Event Delivery: You'll run small to large events from start to finish, planning, prep, setup, showtime, and pack-down, making sure they stay on schedule, on budget, and up to Nexstage standards.
Onsite Leadership & Team Coordination: You'll lead crews on the ground, giving direction, managing labour and timelines, solving problems on the fly, and making sure work gets done safely and professionally.
Planning & Pre-Production: You'll get everything sorted ahead of time, drawings, schedules, crew, gear, and transport, so the job runs smoothly once it hits site.
Client Interaction: You'll be the main point of contact, keeping clients informed, adjusting when things change, and delivering a job they'll want to book again.
Resource & Equipment Management: You'll make sure the right crew and gear are ready to go. You'll flag issues early, check loads, and help keep our kit in top condition.
Safety & Problem Solving: You'll lead by example on safety and deal with issues without drama, whether it's a gear delay, weather issue, or last-minute curveball.
Flexibility: This is a 24/7 industry. You'll need to be open to early starts, late finishes, weekend work and public holidays; events don't wait, and neither do we.
