Boldbridge Group is seeking to engage an experienced Financial Controller. The position has existed within this operation for a number of years, so the successful candidate will be filling an established role within the executive team.
Boldbridge has a small and focused executive team, headed by the CEO. This position is a key part of the team.
Boldbridge Group is a modern, progressive licensed food, beverage, gaming, events, and entertainment club group operating on the Sunshine Coast. The group is well known for its established venue, the Nambour RSL Club, and its vibrant new venue, The Bower Tree at Sippy Downs. The group is owned by its members and the local community, with profits reinvested into better facilities and services.
The role involves maintaining the full accounting functions, but it is not merely an internal accounting position. Your skills in providing high-level advice and solutions will be highly relevant.
You will need to deliver on financial and operational reporting and compliance requirements for this major member-based, not-for-profit hospitality operation. The role includes hands-on responsibilities in accounting and IT functions, alongside management oversight.
Additionally, you will apply your business acumen, system knowledge, reporting skills, and operational understanding to improve business processes and achieve better results. You will act as an internal consultant to the CEO, Board, and executive team.
You will examine areas of the business, prepare briefing papers, analyses, and provide recommendations for improvement. You will be a primary contact with the company's financier and IT support providers, maintaining strong relationships and providing professional reports and submissions.
The role requires providing business cases, scenario modeling, and preparing board papers and briefing documents for internal and external stakeholders. You will oversee systems integration between point of sale, general ledger, inventory, and creditors, and identify new technologies and system solutions.
Qualifications
We seek a qualified and certified accountant, such as CPA, ICAA, IPA, CIMA, or ACCA.
Experience in major gaming and hospitality is not mandatory but would be advantageous.
