This role provides direct, expert clinical care to all acute medical conditions in adults and older persons within an inpatient setting.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Enrolled Nurse (General Medicine Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Contribute to the nursing assessment and care of individuals and groups
* Respond appropriately and report sudden alterations in the health status to the Registered Nurse/Midwife
* Support and participate in an evidence-based learning environment
* Participate in performance development and planning activities.
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
* Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

* Base salary ranging from $71 235 - $75 602 per annum, $2 730.40 - $2 897.80 per fortnight and $35.93 - $38.13 per hour
About Us
The General Medicine Geriatric Unit (GMGU) is a 28 bed unit located on the first floor of Gold Coast Health's Robina Hospital campus. The GMGU provides direct, expert clinical care to all acute medical conditions in adults and older persons within an inpatient setting. Medical conditions include, but are not limited to cardiac not requiring monitoring, respiratory, endocrine, aged care and neurology. A strong focus exists for patient and multidisciplinary education. The nurse is required to provide care for respiratory conditions, general medical and aged care.
