Role Overview
We're looking for a technically strong accountant to join our in-house finance team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role where you will oversee core accounting functions including cash management, reconciliations, financial reporting and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You'll manage our Xero finance environment, lead month-end close, prepare financial statements and partner with stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting. Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Reconciliation
* Oversee all incoming and outgoing cash payments, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external agreements
* Reconcile bank statements, ledger accounts and analyse financial data
* Prepare and present reports detailing premium movements and reconciliations
* Own timely payment of invoices and supply reconciliation
Financial Reporting
* Take full ownership of month-end and year-end close processes
* Prepare financial statements
* Assist with APRA and ASIC regulatory reporting
* Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
System Ownership
* Manage and optimise finance operations within Xero, working with finance and external vendors
* Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes and controls
* Support various finance transformation and change projects
Stakeholder Management
* Lead monthly results analysis and reporting for local and international stakeholders
* Drive the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, working closely with operational and executive team
* Collaborate cross-functionally to provide insights and respond to reporting needs
* Drive continuous improvement and contribute to a strong finance culture
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with a degree in Finance or Accounting
* 6+ years' experience in (re)insurance industry highly regarded
* Solid experience in preparing financial statements and regulatory reports
* Advanced Excel skills; proficient in accounting systems
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
