The key duties of the position include:

The Role

You will lead, plan and execute complex logistics compliance and or assurance activities. Provide technical and process leadership across regional teams, ensuring audit readiness, compliance and specific asset serviceability verification that supports the capability, financial statements and integrity of Defence's inventory and asset management systems.

Provide Logistics Compliance and Assurance advice, and Technical expertise in supply chain management, warehouse, stocktaking and assurance policy, process, data management and audit readiness. Support the Compliance and Assurance Network roles and responsibilities where directed.

Lead inventory and asset compliance and assurance, audit over logistics programs in Defence, APS or equivalent complex contexts. Lead and review responses to directed Australian National Audit Office and other audit body's requirements, ensuring robust evidence provision and support audit finding remediation across the logistics network. A merit pool will be created.

About our Team

The Directorate of Logistics Assurance Programs (DLAP) provides Commander Joint Logistics with capability to influence logistics performance across Defence. To do this, DLAP measures the health of the overall Defence inventory at the organisational level. DLAP is responsible to enabling technical control over Defence Logistics Compliance and Assurance. This is enabled through compliance and assurance processes, systems, training and awareness, stakeholder engagement, leadership, reporting and logistics performance analysis.

The Logistics and Assurance Team is responsible for a range of logistics stocktaking, compliance and assurance functions, with a primary focus across Joint Logistics Command's Units, Clothing and Defence Retail Stores. Other responsibilities include oversight of fuel inventory Business Process Testing functions. This team helps to coordinate and execute the National Inventory Asset and Inventory Sample, and coordination of the National Vehicle Sample liability.

It also assists with the Inventory Price Assurance sample provision and other evidence driven Defence asset and inventory compliance activities. The work of this team is trusted to support Defence's annual reporting to the Australian National Audit Office and underpins the department's Financial Statements.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable producing products suitable for senior decision makers. You will also have a track record of building and maintaining positive and productive stakeholder relationships.

You will bring well developed skills in data literacy, business intelligence, and financial and economic acumen, enabling you to draw insights, interpret trends, and support evidence based decision making. You will also demonstrate strong compliance and assurance capability, supporting governance and oversight requirements across a complex operating environment.

You will be comfortable planning, leading and managing a range of complex and competing human, physical and financial resources to achieve compliance and assurance business outcomes. This includes undertaking activities on inventory and asset holdings utilising mandated policies, procedures and systems.

You will lean in to building capability and continuous improvement for your team and the broader Branch, supporting a culture of service excellence, data driven insight, and organisational maturity.

Eligibility

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
