What you'll be doing
The Chief Pharmacy Information Officer (CPIO) is a strategic senior leadership role with the responsibility for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of digital health systems, particularly those related to medication management. The CPIO ensures the smooth flow of medication-related information throughout all transitions of care, demonstrating a robust understanding of governance and hospital operations.
The CPIO leads and advocates for the transformation of clinical information systems and advanced technology in clinical services, focusing on integrating these systems to improve patient care, emphasizing medication management and safety. Bridging the gap between technical personnel and clinicians, the CPIO recognizes the crucial role of supporting medication management to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The CPIO brings a clinical background and hospital pharmacy business knowledge to create a vision for optimal medication management systems. The incumbent will lead the Local Health District in the strategy, development, and implementation of digital health systems to support Pharmacy and Pharmacy practice. Together with the CMIO, CNMIO and CAHIO, the CPIO will also participate in the development of the clinical systems strategy with the broader digital health services team. The CPIO collaborates extensively across the local health service, NSW Health, and beyond to fulfil key accountabilities and promote the advancement of digital health in pharmacy practice.

Qualifications
* Recent and extensive senior management experience in a Pharmacy setting.
* Extensive experience in a complex health setting utilising digital informatics related to medication management systems, including knowledge of how to enhance patient safety and improve usability.
* Recent and extensive experience in a public hospital leadership and management role requiring skills in balancing clinical and regulatory goals and outcomes and collaborating with individuals at all levels within the organisation.
* A proactive approach in presenting new practices and new technology or expanding existing clinical systems to drive improvements in clinical quality, cost-effectiveness, and patient/staff satisfaction.
* Demonstrated experience motivating and leading staff to achieve organisational outcomes including developing others and serving as a mentor and role model.
* Demonstrated participation and contribution to committees or groups that influence medication management practice or quality use of medicines issues (this may include state or national committees)
