Job Description
The role of Environmental Compliance Officer plays a critical part in developing, implementing and managing environmental compliance systems and controls.
This position involves assisting with environmental and planning compliance within the Landfills and Transfer Stations team, which includes:
Ballarat Regional Landfill
Smythesdale Closed Landfills;
Gillies Street Transfer Station; and
Other Council-owned and managed contaminated or potentially contaminated land.
The successful candidate will have relevant work experience in waste management/environmental monitoring programs and rehabilitation plans/local government. They should demonstrate ability to support contractor coordination and contribute to compliance-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with development and implementation of environmental compliance systems and controls
* Supporting contractor coordination and contributing to compliance-related activities
* Contributing to project delivery under supervision
* Preparation of written reports and budgets tracking
* Procurement processes within delegated authority
A current Australian Driver's License is required for this role. The successful applicant will undergo a full employment medical and police check.
