About the Role
Paesanella Food Emporium is seeking a passionate and customer-focused Deli Assistant to join our dynamic team in Marrickville. In this role, you'll be the face of our busy deli counter, delivering excellent customer service while working with high-quality fresh produce and authentic Italian products.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assisting customers with deli orders and purchases
* Preparing and serving fresh deli meats, cheeses, antipasti, and specialty items
* Slicing, weighing, and packaging products to order
* Restocking and replenishing deli products as required
* Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the deli counter and work areas
* Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service
* Following all food safety and hygiene standards
* Working closely with the wider retail team to ensure smooth store operations
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a deli, food retail, or hospitality environment
* Knowledge of Italian deli products and/or Italian language skills highly regarded
* Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
* Good attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to food safety and hygiene practices
* A positive, team-oriented attitude
