Job Description
The teacher will be responsible for the delivery of English‑based units in the Foundation Program such as academic writing and communication skills.
This role includes teaching, providing academic support to students, exam / test supervision and marking of assignments and exams. Teachers are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching and contribute to student development through professional activities and involvement in administration of programs. A willingness to embrace new technologies is vital to success at the College.
Essential Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with a learning management system to assist and enhance the delivery of subject content.
* Demonstrated understanding of and empathy for a multicultural environment.
* A comprehensive understanding of pathway programs and their articulation with university courses.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and initiate change.
* Demonstrated ability to work with changing priorities and meet deadlines.
Desirable
* Demonstrable knowledge of quality principles and methodology incorporating continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in education and/or a relevant field of expertise related to English teaching to international students, such as TESOL or CELTA.
