Overview
Based at Wetherill Park, an opportunity exists for an experienced Maintenance Fitter for a permanent full-time position.
Responsibilities
* In collaboration with the Maintenance Leading Hand; provide support in the plan for shutdown, breakdown, preventative and reactive maintenance activities across the Wetherill Park site.
* Perform routine maintenance procedures and assist in quick troubleshooting and repairing any mechanical problems that arise in manufacturing processes and equipment.
* Demonstrate strong safety commitment and consistently follow site safety standards & requirements (including permit system), whilst maintaining the required plant up-time.
* Conduct risk assessments for maintenance tasks, including the implementation of the necessary controls and precautions.
* Monitor and report the status of the equipment and collaborate for the rectifications.
* Participate and undertake mechanical trades tasks such as welding, fabrication, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, lubrication, and specialised machining tasks with competencies, quality, and authorisation.
* Maintain all the records of activities by completing administrative requirements through the maintenance management system (MEX).
* Provide support to the Maintenance Store: Stocking shelves and stacking heavy goods safely, picking goods from shelves and recording their movements, moving heavy pallets and goods using a forklift.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Boilermaker ticket, mechanical trade certificates (minimum of III or IV)
* Experience in the fabrication/machining of parts, fabrication of pipework, and overhauling rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, agitators, and blowers)
* Proficiency in manual machining and experience using a lathe (desirable)
* Familiarity with static equipment (e.g., process, storage, and pressure vessels), and sound knowledge of boilers and compressors
* Knowledge of working in chemical plants and hazards involved in chemical manufacturing (minimum 5 years of working experience within relevant industries).
* High Risk Work Licences including forklift, EWP and Confined Space (desirable)
* Good communication skills across different business functions
* Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and a computerised maintenance management systems, such as SAP, MEX or similar.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 3.30 pm
