Work Safety Officer Role
The Work Safety Officer will ensure the safe and secure operation of airside environments in accordance with relevant regulations and company standard operating procedures.
* They oversee and monitor all airfield works to guarantee activities meet CASA Part 139 and operational standards.
* Coordinate contractor access within airside areas, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
* Support the development and implementation of Method of Working Plans (MoWPs) and associated NOTAM requirements.
* Conduct regular inspections verifying pavement integrity, lighting status, FOD risks and worksite compliance.
* Manage temporary work markings, lighting, barricades and exclusion zones to support safe aircraft operations.
* Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate operational risks.
* Communicate work progress to aerodrome operations teams and key aviation stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate logs, reports and documentation for all works activity.
Responsibilities
* Verify plant, equipment and personnel comply with AMS induction, access and airside safety requirements.
