Development Manager / Technical Lead – Nexus & RPG)

We're looking for an experienced
Development Manager / Technical Lead
supporting and evolving a critical third-party application within our clients claims technology ecosystem.
Nexus is a strategically important platform, and this role plays a key part in maintaining delivery momentum while driving ongoing enhancements. You'll work with a close-knit team of around
10 developers
, operating across a
mixed technology stack
that blends modern
/ JavaScript
with
IBM RPG
legacy components.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who is technically strong, delivery-focused, and comfortable operating in environments where modern and legacy systems coexist.
What you'll be doing
* Leading and contributing to feature delivery, fixes, and enhancements for the Nexus platform
* Working closely with developers, QA, product owners, and other stakeholders
* Providing technical guidance and contributing to architectural discussions
* Supporting and integrating with RPG-based legacy systems
* Troubleshooting and resolving production issues
* Ensuring work is aligned to business priorities and delivered on time
* Participating in agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
What we're looking for
Essential
* Strong
/ backend JavaScript
development experience
* Exposure to
IBM RPG
and legacy system integrations
* Experience working in
agile delivery environments
* Solid problem-solving and debugging capability
* Good understanding of
REST APIs
, asynchronous patterns, and modern coding practices
Nice to have
* Experience working with
third-party enterprise applications
* Exposure to
CI/CD pipelines
and modern deployment practices
* Backend database experience (enterprise or service-based environments)
