About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the ER landscape at this organisation. As the Employee Relations Manager, you will lead a team of 2 ER Specialists and 2 HR Advisors, embarking on a journey to establish and implement a robust and proactive Employee Relations strategy. You will play a key role in developing a future-focused ER function that transcends reactive case management. While you will oversee a high volume of ER cases managed by your team, this role strategically focuses on developing frameworks, tools, and insights to mitigate future issues and empower the business. As our industrial relations subject matter expert, you will lead the employee relations function, driving innovation and building a culture of proactive people management.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement effective ER strategies and roadmaps to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations while also building essential systems and processes.
* Create toolkits for managers, lead policy updates, and develop strategies to safeguard the organisation from potential Fair Work Commission matters.
* Leverage data insights, working closely with a newly appointed Data Analyst, to identify trends, understand the drivers behind employee turnover, and proactively address potential ER risks.
* Lead your team to provide accurate and consistent advice on award interpretation and actively participate in salary reviews.
* Build strong relationships with managers and identify capability gaps, championing a proactive approach to people management, ultimately contributing to a positive employee experience and ensuring our customers are well-supported.

* Excellent Communication Skills: Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences. Attention to detail is also essential.
* Strong Coaching and Mentoring Abilities: Capacity to coach and mentor managers to build their people management capability and foster a positive workplace culture.
* Resilience and Adaptability: Ability to manage a team that handles a high-volume caseload while simultaneously building strategic frameworks. Adaptable to evolving organisational needs.
* Alignment with Values: A genuine commitment to values of Passionate, Respectful, Ethical, Curious, and Courageous, and a demonstrated understanding of the importance of diversity, inclusion, and equitable opportunities.
It would be beneficial if you also have experience in a service delivery or operational sector, providing an understanding of diverse workforce management; experience with Enterprise Agreements, particularly in renewals; and familiarity with remuneration benchmarking processes.
