Formed in 1917, The Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) is Victoria's largest provider of Residential, Community and Home-based early parenting services for families with children from birth to four years of age.
With our Residential Early Parenting Centre in Noble Park and Community home-based services across Victoria, we play a special role in providing parenting education and support to thousands of families every year to give their children the best start in life. The role
This role plays an important role in ensuring the financial systems, processes and documentation, financial reporting and analysis are well maintained to ensure compliance and prove times, accurate information as required.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will;
* Assist with all finance journals, reporting, accounts payables and receivables, payroll and purchasing in an accurate and timely manner
* Ensure all finance policies and procedures are maintained and are up to date
* Provide accurate and timely financial reports and interpretation/analysis to stakeholders
* Assist with the annual budget preparation process
* Actively contribute to short and long- term strategic planning and formation of operational business plans.
* Undertake other role related duties as per position description and as assigned my reporting manager.
This is a
full time, 9-month fixed-term role
and is primarily based at Noble Park with occasional travel to regional Victorian sites.

About you
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
* Experience in an accounting role (1-3 years preferred).
* Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Tax.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
* Excellent communication, organisational skills and ability to be self-directed.
* Proactive problem-solving skills and high level of attention to detail .
* Aptitude for navigating new software.
