Overview
We are looking for a High Voltage Maintainer to work in the Power Supply team to ensure duties are performed in a safe, efficient manner with a focus on teamwork and quality results.

You will be working a 9 day fortnight, 10 hour roster. Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Crew Leader and working in the Power Supply maintenance team you will be:
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of high voltage assets, infrastructure, and distribution systems.
- Understand high voltage and maintenance procedures and work practices and maintain consistent application of standards.
- Identify root causes of breakdowns and implement solutions to eliminate them.
- Operate the high voltage assets to ensure continuity of electrical supply to Boyne Smelter.
- Prepare, check and participate in high voltage switching procedures.
- Liaise with external power providers.
- Lead teams as required to complete specific tasks or projects.
- Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently.
What You’ll Bring

- Valid C Class drivers licence.
- An Australian 'A' grade Electrical licence.
- A High Voltage Isolation and Access (HVIA) certificate is desirable.
- Relevant experience in an Aluminum Smelter and/or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong ability to clearly communicate with team members and stakeholders.
- A willingness to learn and enthusiasm to develop new skills as required.
- Good computer skills including the use of SAP would be desirable.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- High Voltage experience or exposure up to 275kV Equipment.
- Familiarity with Honeywell Experion Control Systems.

Where you’ll be working
Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia’s second largest aluminium smelter with a 1,000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20km southeast of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum. Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
