About the Position:
As a Senior Development Planner, you will:
* Assess and manage complex development proposals, including structure plans and major applications.
* Lead strategic projects, such as the Local Heritage Survey and Developer Contribution Plan.
* Contribute to the Shires Integrated Growth Framework and Place Planning initiatives.
* Provide mentorship and share expertise to develop team capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Assessing complex statutory and strategic planning applications.
* Developing policies and strategies to drive sustainable growth.
* Reviewing and administering developer contribution plans.
* Participating in integrated growth and place planning initiatives.
* Preparing professional reports and conducting stakeholder consultations.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning (or equivalent).
* Minimum of 3 years experience in statutory and/or strategic planning.
* Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary environments in local government planning.
* Strong research, evaluation, and report-writing skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office suite and valid drivers licence.
* Experience in policy development, compliance, and appeals processes (highly regarded).
