We are a non-profit, community-based children's centre, providing centre-based childcare to the Cessnock community for over 60 years. Providing high quality, affordable care with seven services catering to the widest age groups of children in the area, we supply nutritious meals and flexible learning environments that support and enhance each child's learning and development.

About the role

Our centre has a vacancy for a warm, organised and well-presented Administration Officer, to play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our childcare centre. Working closely with the Centre Director, Finance Manager and educators, you will help ensure smooth administrative processes and maintain a welcoming, professional environment for families and staff. Your duties may include:


• Maintain accurate accounts and attendance records


• Provide exceptional customer service to families and visitors


• Answering and directing phone calls and enquiries friendly and efficiently


• Booking family tours


• Support families with the enrolment process and maintaining accurate documentation


• Implement service fee collection policy and procedures


• Assist families to maintain regular fee payment


• Provide administrative support to the Centre Director and wider team as requested

About you

An experienced administrator, you will bring your warm and friendly personality and passion for providing excellent service. You will also have:


• Outstanding customer service and presentation.


• Demonstrated effective time management and attention to detail.


• Strong administration skills with a high attention to detail


• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.


• Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team


• Commitment to maintaining and updating industry knowledge and attend additional training as necessary.

Specific skills/qualifications


• Qualification in business administration or related field


• Valid Working with Children Check


• Proven administration and customer service experience


• Experience in an education and care service highly desirable
