This role plays a pivotal part in delivering comprehensive financial and cost accounting services, in-depth financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning functions. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, results-driven financial professional with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and interact at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Accounting: Provide expert financial and cost accounting services, including product costing, inventory control and valuation, analysis. Perform critical aspects of the month-end closing process.
* Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments, develop, and present financial information and associated analyses of manufacturing productivity, product cost, and financial performance. Evaluate actual results vs. budget and forecast.
* Business Decision Support: Develop in-depth analysis, reporting, and financial modeling to provide business decision support to mill management. Analyze opportunities to maximize value creation.
* Budgeting and Planning: Coordinate annual budget process, periodic forecasts, and financial estimates. Develop cost standards, budgetary, and forecast metrics.
* Process Improvement: Participate in or lead cross-functional business process and system improvement initiatives to maximize value creation.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other advanced degree preferred.
* Minimum 5-7 years experience in managerial/cost accounting, financial planning, budgeting, and analysis. Experience in a process manufacturing environment or pulp and paper industry preferred.
* Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, detail oriented.
* Effective communication skills (written & verbal).
* Ability to manage competing priorities.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
* Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite of products.
* Knowledge of integrated information systems (SAP preferred).
