Job Summary
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager role involves leading and supporting excellence in acute care services. The successful candidate will provide expert nursing care while supporting and leading their team in delivering high-quality, person-centred services.
About the Role:
The job holder will provide nursing and/or midwifery care across various health service settings, developing from competent to proficient practice. They will accept accountability for their own standards of care, delegate appropriately, and support the guidance and development of less experienced staff.
Duties:
* Promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other ANUMs and the NUM/MUM.
* Assist in implementing practice changes and service improvements.
* Support ward/unit/service management responsibilities, including performance management, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation, attendance monitoring, and financial/supplies planning.
Requirements:
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
* Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
* Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
* Experience in supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
