CPC Engineering has over 50 years of experience in design, engineering, maintenance, and construction and is 100% Western Australian. CPC’s Karratha division is in the final stages of an exciting transition to a majority-owned Indigenous multi-faceted company with Traditional Owner links to the Coastal and inland areas of the west Pilbara (Whim Creek – Onslow). This joint venture will provide security of work to our evolving team and will provide opportunities for people looking to make a difference locally and in the communities. CPC Karratha has a significant client base, including many Tier 1 mining companies, global service providers, local government departments, and local businesses.
Candidates with previous experience in construction & maintenance on a domestic, commercial, and industrial level will be highly regarded.
Role
The tasks carried out by these positions will include, but are not limited to: Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is completed in accordance with relevant standards and that your work is undertaken to the highest standard of accuracy and cleanliness. Scoping, quoting, electrical compliance and reporting.
Acceptance of a position with CPC Engineering is on the basis that you will be asked to undertake other duties for the crew/team with which you’ll be working to complete their tasks together. This is a key requirement of all CPC Engineering tradespeople and has proved to be a current and successful policy.
Recruitment Parameters
Education and Experience
- Trade qualification and not less than 2 years of experience
- Evidence of further education/training in a similar role
- Hold or be eligible to hold a WA Electrical License
- Be ticketed or be prepared to be ticketed in Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas.
Skills and Abilities
- Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
- Proven communication, leadership, and team-building abilities.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to work in remote locations.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills
- Current WA driver’s license.
- Reading Comprehension - understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
- Installation – Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
- Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- Equipment Selection - Determining the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Time Management - Managing one\'s own time.
- Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance of equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
