Job Opportunity: GIS Specialist
This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting the council's Geographic Information System (GIS) and Land Information System (LIS). Key duties include property addressing, road and place naming coordination, data accuracy checks, timely updates, producing maps, responding to enquiries, and conducting field inspections for data collection.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and update GIS datasets
* Process subdivisions and plan registrations
* Allocate urban and rural numbers
* Liaise with external agencies
About the Role:
To perform this role effectively, you must have a diploma in Spatial Analyst, Survey Drafting, Town Planning/Urban Design mapping, environmental mapping or equivalent experience. You should also possess effective time management and prioritisation skills, ability to consult, share information and work collaboratively.
About You:
You should have strong attention to detail, proactive approach to data management, excellent communication skills, confident working with spatial systems, comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders, capable of balancing technical tasks and customer service. Additionally, you should have a keen interest in mapping, property and road naming, and fieldwork.
