FARM MANAGER – SHEEP & GRAZING
KANGAROO ISLAND, SOUTH AUSTRALIAA well-structured agricultural business is seeking a capable Farm Manager to take full operational responsibility for a livestock-focused property on Kangaroo Island.
This is a hands-on role within a broader three-farm aggregation, offering strong support, clear systems, and the opportunity to run your own operation while contributing to a larger, integrated business.
THE OPERATION
* Approx. 1,500ha grazing/arable country
* Merino ewe base (currently rebuilding), producing first cross lambs
* Trade cattle program aligned to seasonal conditions
* Small cropping program (canola/barley, including grazing crops)
* Part of a 3-farm aggregation with shared planning and resources
THE ROLE
* Take full responsibility for day-to-day livestock operations
* Manage sheep production, breeding, health and grazing programs
* Oversee cattle operations as required
* Lead a small team and coordinate contractors (shearing, marking, etc.)
* Maintain infrastructure including fencing, water and yards
* Work closely with the KI General Manager and broader team on planning and performance
* Drive outcomes across production, presentation and efficiency
YOU WILL BRING
* Strong practical experience in sheep and grazing systems
* Confident stock handling and working dog skills
* Experience running a property or stepping up into full responsibility
* Sound understanding of pasture and grazing management
* Mechanical aptitude and ability to manage day-to-day maintenance
* A practical, self-driven approach with good communication
