Queensland State Government are looking for an experienced and professional Program Engagement Officer to join their one of their departments in Townsville to support the delivery of an Investment Program. As a Program Engagement Officer with Queensland State Government, you’ll help ensure communities, stakeholders and the media are well informed and appropriately engaged about upcoming/ongoing projects across the region. You’ll work closely with program managers and project teams to deliver clear, timely communication and meaningful community engagement that supports successful outcomes.
• $59.16 p.h + Super • Full time hours • 10 Month Assignment; with possibility of extension • Townsville QLD 4810
In this role you will: • Research and analyse information to prepare high-quality written content for correspondence to ensure a clear and consistent response to stakeholders and community. • Prepare high-quality written content including briefing notes, correspondence and stakeholder responses. • Develop and implement community engagement plans for Queensland State Government projects. • Create communication materials such as media releases, newsletters, flyers, displays and project updates. • Respond to media enquiries and assist with reputation management • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, stakeholders and community members. • Ensure information is managed confidentially and in line with government and records management requirements.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can tailor messages to different audiences and manage sensitive information with professionalism. You enjoy working collaboratively and understand the importance of accuracy, consistency and reputation in a public-sector environment.
You will also have: • Strong writing skills, particularly for briefing notes, executive correspondence or formal communications • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Experience working within policy, legislative or governance frameworks (government experience desirable) • A professional, ethical and collaborative approach • Proven experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, community consultation or a related field
