About the Role
You will play a pivotal leadership role within our People & Culture team, driving a proactive, and integrated approach to health, safety and psychological wellbeing across the organisation.
Reporting to the Manager People & Culture, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership to ensure Council meets its legislative obligations while embedding a culture of safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement. You will lead the Health, Safey & Wellbeing function, oversee Council's OHS management system (Riskware), and provide expert advice across injury management, workers compensation, return to work and psychosocial risk.
You will lead the development and delivery of Council's Health, Safety & Wellbeing Plan, partner closely with leaders to build capability and accountability, and support a high‐performing Health and Safety Committee. With a strong focus on prevention, early intervention and wellbeing, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, healthy and inclusive workplace for our people, contractors and volunteers.

About You
You're an experienced health & safety professional with a strong track record in leading health, safety and wellbeing functions within a complex organisation. You bring demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategies and plans, and managing a broad range of OHS matters across diverse work environments.
You take a practical, solutions focused approach to compliance, and have the capability to influence leaders and drive meaningful cultural change in health, safety and wellbeing. You are confident analysing and resolving complex issues, communicate effectively at all levels and are committed to continuous improvement and learning.
