About the role
We are seeking a Manager -Tax and Business Services Accountant to join our team at Paragon Consultants in Nedlands. This is a full-time position offering opportunities for professional development, career progression and potential pathway to equity.
You will report directly to the Partner and work closely with the senior management team.
What you'll be doing
Client Service and Compliance
Review work prepared by staff for accuracy and completeness, including:
Review tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies and self‑managed superannuation funds.
Contribute to SMSF strategic planning where required.
Review BAS, IAS and FBT returns prior to lodgement with the ATO.
Team Leadership and Development
You will lead, mentor and support junior staff, ensuring high‑quality work and supporting their technical and professional growth.
Business Advisory and Growth
Provide strategic tax planning and business advisory services to clients.
Support contract CFO engagements, including analysis, reporting and decision‑making support.
Conduct tax research and analysis and share relevant insights with the team.
Practice Management
Maintain proactive communication with clients to ensure exceptional service delivery.
Assist the Partner in workflow management, budgeting, fee targets and team capacity planning.
What we're looking for
Minimum 10 years' experience in public practice, including experience in a similar managerial role.
Proven ability to lead a team, manage workloads and review staff output.
Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax law, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Tertiary qualification in Accounting and completion of CA or CPA is required.
Must have Australian work rights to be considered for this position.
