Role Overview
Shape Your World At Alcoa – Powerhouse Supervisor reporting to the Powerhouse Superintendent. Frontline leader responsible for managing Powerhouse operations, overseeing maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Alcoa standards on a 12‐hour shift pattern including days, nights and required coverage.
Responsibilities
* Operate power station safely and continuously, supervising overhauls and projects.
* Maintain and troubleshoot plant systems to ensure reliability and readiness.
* Lead and develop team performance, including training, assessment and feedback.
* Ensure safety, legislative and high‐risk licensing compliance.
* Coordinate with stakeholders and providers to optimize utilities and power trading.
* Manage operations, contractors, budgets and safety across all powerhouse activities.
Qualifications
* Worksafe High Risk Licence for Advanced Boilers (BA) and Turbine Operation (TO). Certificate 4 in Power Generation.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership position or equivalent operational background.
* Experience in boiler operations – both gas and diesel‐fired feeding steam turbines and generators.
* Experience operating gas turbines with Heat Recovery Steam Generators, tagging, confined space entry and hot work permit experience.
* Understanding of high voltage systems and regulatory requirements.
* Experience in electrical market performance and trading.
* Self‐motivation to work semi‐autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic team.
* Leadership experience in operations with a strong safety track record.
* Statutory Supervisor accreditation required.

Location
