Introduction The SAP Application Security Consultant will support the design, configuration, and maintenance of security controls across SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, and related SAP platforms. This role focuses on implementing secure access, ensuring compliance with organisational and government standards, supporting audit activities, and assisting with remediation across the SAP landscape. The consultant will work closely with senior security specialists, functional teams, and project stakeholders to deliver secure and reliable SAP solutions. Your role and responsibilities - Assist in the design, configuration, and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA application security roles and authorisations. - Support the development and administration of SAP security profiles, segregation-of-duties controls, and access governance processes. - Contribute to the implementation and operation of SAP GRC Access Control, including access request workflows and risk analysis activities. - Perform access reviews, security testing, and validation during project implementations and system changes. - Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure secure configuration of SAP applications and adherence to security standards. - Support incident investigation, issue resolution, and root-cause analysis for SAP security-related issues. - Assist with preparation of security documentation, audit evidence, risk analysis reports, and compliance artefacts. - Provide input to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen SAP security posture and support organisational security frameworks. - Work closely with senior consultants to develop skills and gain exposure to advanced SAP security concepts and tools. Required technical and professional expertise - Experience working with SAP application security concepts, including role-based access control, authorisations, and identity management. - Understanding of SAP S/4HANA or SAP HANA security structures and user access mechanisms. - Exposure to SAP GRC Access Control or similar access governance tools. - Ability to perform basic segregation-of-duties checks and contribute to remediation activities. - Strong problem-solving abilities with good attention to detail and willingness to learn advanced security practices. - Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders. - Australian Citizenship Preferred technical and professional experience - Experience in SAP support environments, project implementations, or security-related roles. - Knowledge of security audit processes or compliance frameworks relevant to government environments. - Familiarity with SAP Fiori security concepts and cloud-integrated authentication models. - SAP Security or SAP S/4HANA certifications, or progress toward certification.
