Overview
We are currently on the hunt for an experienced and passionate Function / Events Manager to join our expanding catering operations at our premium campus in Hawthorn. As the Function Manager you'll know everything there is to know about creating amazing function experiences and running a tight commercial operation. You will be passionate and hands on in your role and thoroughly enjoy the challenge of executing outstanding events.
Key Duties
* Partner with the Unit Manager & Head Chef to ensure accurate function delivery
* Set up and break down a variety of functions on campus (bump in and bump out)
* Contribute to the continual development of the client partnership
* Function client liaison
* Ensure all functions are delivered at an impeccable standard
* Manage labour cost and control
* Ensure all events/functions adhere to strict health, safety and security procedures
* Rostering & management of the function team
Qualifications
* Minimum 2-3 years function management experience in a comparable environment
* Experience in a mixture of events from pop‑up outlets, camps, luncheons and 3‑course dinners
* Commercially savvy and able to identify and deliver on growth opportunities
* Positive, supportive, ambitious leader with experience in carrying out personal development plans, staff training sessions and appraisals
* Develops effective relationships with individuals at all levels from diverse backgrounds, cultures and locations
* Passionate about delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction and engagement
* Great attention to detail with an excellent ability to multi‑task and prioritise
