The role
Key responsibilities undertaken by the Business Support Officer – Planning include:
- assisting in the delivery of friendly, accurate and timely customer service, including responding to general telephone and counter enquiries from the public
- providing administrative services to the team including the effective use of office support systems, databases and procedures, maintenance of relevant website and intranet content, maintenance of equipment and facilities, the raising of purchase orders, financial functions, management of hard copy records and files, and any other administrative duties as required
- providing a range of effective support functions, for Coordinators and staff of Planning including management of incoming and outgoing correspondence, arranging and scheduling meetings, coordinating papers, organising venues, catering and agendas, taking minutes, following-up actions and making travel, training and accommodation arrangements
To be successful in this role you will have:
- relevant experience and qualifications
- a general understanding of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 as it relates to unit operations
- previous experience in or an understanding of working within a Local Government setting would be highly regarded
- a thorough understanding of the relevant technology, processes and procedures associated with the team and unit
