Job Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Classroom Teacher to join our highly professional team at St John's Heidelberg. This is a contract position of 3 days a week, commencing Term 3, 2026.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will work in partnership with the Principal, Leadership Team, staff and families to support every student to thrive. Responsibilities include:
* Creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences within a collaborative, team‐based environment.
* Delivering curriculum that supports students' academic, social, and emotional development.
* Using data to inform planning and respond to diverse student needs.
* Integrating digital technologies to enhance learning.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
* Commitment to child safety, including compliance with the school's Child Safe Policy, Code of Conduct, and related procedures.
* Sound understanding of MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement, applying effective pedagogy to support personalised and differentiated learning.
* Ability to work collaboratively, using data to inform planning and respond to diverse student needs.
* Knowledge of the OCRE and ability to effectively implement Religious Education in line with Catholic teachings.
* Respect for the Catholic ethos of the school and a commitment to Gospel values.
* Openness to innovation, including the effective integration of digital technologies to enhance learning.
* Commitment to ongoing professional growth as a lifelong learner.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
* Understanding of and compliance with legal responsibilities relating to the safety, care, and wellbeing of students.
Special Requirements
* Current VIT registration.
* Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (or willingness to obtain).
* Proof of identity and relevant qualifications.
* Commitment to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all children.
