Art Curator Role Overview
The Art Curator is responsible for creating engaging art experiences that showcase Tasmanian contemporary art. This role requires strong knowledge of art interpretation and a refined aesthetic judgement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead art tours and exhibitions that celebrate Tasmanian artists and their work
* Coordinate art sales, shipping, and manage sales targets
* Work closely with artists and guests to ensure seamless art experiences
* Curate and open new exhibitions every 5–6 weeks in the Packing Room Gallery
* Act as a key point of guest connection in our Artist in Residence program
Requirements:
A degree in fine or visual art (or related field) with experience in art interpretation is essential. Strong administrative skills and proficiency in MS Office are also required. An outgoing personality with strong customer-service skills and the ability to tailor guest experiences is necessary. The physical capability and confidence to work at heights, including climbing ladders and safely hanging or moving artworks, is also required.
