Applicants must be aged 18 years or older to apply and available to work Monday to Friday. Due to our venue being located within a club, there are strict club policies that must be followed. Some tasks require staff to enter the gaming area to access deliveries from the dock and assist with bin and waste disposal.

ABOUT MONKEY MANIA

Monkey Mania features fantastic indoor play equipment including inflatable jumping castles, special toddler zones, foam ball arenas, climbing frames, slides, and arcade games. We also feature Laser Mania and Plaster Funtime. Our party packages cater to all budgets and include unlimited playtime, a dedicated party host, and a fully themed party room to make your celebration extra special.

We aim to provide long-lasting memories for kids and adults alike, whether you’re dropping in for casual play or booking a party with us.

THE ROLE

This is an all-rounder role, meaning you will work across several areas of the venue including reception, kitchen and café service. You will also assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the play structures, monitoring play areas, and completing general cleaning tasks throughout the venue to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our customers.

Café and Kitchen Duties

Café and kitchen duties include preparing and serving food and coffees while practising safe food handling at all times. You will be responsible for operating the coffee machine, preparing and portioning food, operating fryers, and ensuring food is prepared and presented correctly.

Responsibilities also include providing excellent customer service, handling cash and EFTPOS transactions, maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen and café areas, washing dishes, wiping tables, and completing general cleaning tasks. You will also assist with restocking café and kitchen supplies, collecting and accepting deliveries, and ensuring all food handling and hygiene standards are followed at all times.

Reception Duties

You will also assist at our reception desk, where responsibilities include processing transactions, creating and confirming bookings, answering phone calls, responding to emails, assisting customers with enquiries, and managing the booking system. Reception duties also involve handling cash and EFTPOS transactions, completing admin paperwork and forms, and ensuring all bookings and customer details are accurately recorded.

A key part of this role is confidently promoting and selling our memberships using the required sales line while providing friendly and efficient customer service to all guests. You will also be responsible for confidently enforcing venue policies when required and assisting customers with bookings, enquiries, and general venue information to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience.

Customer Service and Safety

Providing exceptional customer service is essential. You will also play an important role in supporting the safety of our customers by confidently enforcing venue policies when needed. This role requires someone who is not afraid to speak up, remains calm under pressure, and can professionally manage customer interactions.

Skills and Experience

Coffee machine experience is recommended but not essential, as training can be provided to the right candidate. Hospitality or customer service experience is a must. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. A keen eye for cleanliness, presentation, and attention to detail is essential. Being a fast learner is a must, as you will be required to quickly adapt to different areas of the business and take on a variety of tasks.

Reliability and Availability

Reliability is essential. We are looking for someone we can count on to show up on time, be consistent, and take pride in their work.

This is a casual position, and we are seeking someone who is available to work 4–5 days per week, Monday to Friday. There may also be the occasional weekend shift if requested with notice; however, staff will not be rostered for more than five days per week.

During school terms, shifts are typically between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. During school holiday periods, shifts will typically be between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
