We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as the Payroll Specialist reporting to Payroll Manager.
A bit about your role
The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of cyclical payrolls including the effective management of all payroll activities, preparation of all payroll amendments and ensuring salary and non-salary benefits are administered and disbursed accordingly. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for providing up-to-date specialist advice, support and guidance to all nbn employees and key stakeholders across a broad range of payroll matters in line with nbn policies and legislative requirements as well as providing specialist advice on all payroll matters to employees and key stakeholders within the business and People and Culture.
The role of the payroll administrator involves overseeing various aspects of remuneration and benefits. This includes tasks such as providing end-of-year income statements, paying PAYG tax to the ATO, correcting any overpayments or underpayments, processing non-salary benefits, reconciling payroll payments, and generating payrun reports. It also involves maintaining auditable records, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of payroll data, and handling employee setup, changes, and terminations.
The administrator is responsible for responding to payroll queries, interpreting EBA and award requirements, processing superannuation payments and deductions, and managing salary sacrificing options. Additionally, they assist with payroll reconciliations, support teams in resolving issues and implementing changes, maintain the payroll database, and contribute to continuous improvement projects. They also provide advice on payroll issues affecting staff, administer termination quotes and payments, provide data to external agencies, and assist in preparing standard correspondence. The administrator may also participate in projects and project teams as needed.
