* This is a maximum-term contract position, which provides employment entitlements for the duration of the contract, including annual leave, personal leave, and paid public holidays.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Designing, developing, and implementing high-performance control systems
* Programming and configuring software for real-time and distributed control systems
* Assisting with integration, testing, and commissioning of hardware and software
* Troubleshooting and resolving operational control system issues
* Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a motivated engineer with strong technical foundations, a keen interest in complex systems, and the ability to adapt quickly in a high-tech environment.

* Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar)
* Experience with control systems, embedded systems, or real-time systems
* Strong programming skills (Python highly regarded)
* Understanding of data acquisition and instrumentation
* High learning agility and ability to thrive in a complex technical environment

Highly Desirable:

* Experience with EtherCAT-based systems
* Exposure to Siemens S7 PLCs
* Motion control systems experience (e.g: EPICs or similar)
* Commissioning or system integration experience
* Background in scientific, research, or high-tech environments

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and willing to participate in a National Security Clearance process.
