and next-generation train intelligence?
Are you ready to lead the architectural evolution of scalable, mission-critical software that supports
smarter and greener rail operations?
Cubris is looking for an
experienced Software Engineering Architect
to play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of a growing product portfolio, including
the GreenSpeed platform.
This strategic role sits at the intersection
of enterprise architecture, product vision, and high-performance software development
.
About the Role:
As a Software Engineering Architect, you will design and evolve the technical architecture that powers Cubris' data-driven and energy-optimizing solutions for the railway industry. You'll collaborate with engineering, product, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable, maintainable, and secure architectures across Cubris' product suite.
This role combines long-term vision with day-to-day technical leadership, aligning architectural strategies with business growth and global expansion. You'll be a key technical advisor, ensuring that systems meet the highest standards in performance, security, and sustainability.
Your Responsibilities:
Architectural Strategy & Planning
Lead the design and continuous evolution of Cubris' enterprise software architecture.
Develop scalable, modular architectures that support multiple product lines and deployment contexts.
Establish and champion architecture principles, patterns, and standards across teams.
Partner with software engineers, product managers, and DevOps to align technical solutions with business needs.
Guide product development through architecture design reviews, decision frameworks, and roadmaps.
Serve as a mentor and architectural thought leader across development teams and respective tech-leads.
Governance & Innovation
Define architecture documentation standards and maintain clear technical blueprints.
Evaluate new technologies and approaches to drive continuous improvement and competitiveness.
Support the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability practices.
Scalability & Performance
Architect for resilience, cybersecurity, scalability, and maintainability in real-world production systems.
Ensure systems are cloud-native, leveraging best practices for security, monitoring, and disaster recovery (Azure preferred).
What you bring:
Must-Haves
5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 in a lead or architecture role.
Proven success architecting large-scale, enterprise-grade software systems.
Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, API-first design, and event-driven systems.
Experience designing for reliability, observability, and system health.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across technical and business functions.
Nice-to-Haves
Hands-on experience with Azure, Kubernetes, or other cloud platforms.
Background in CI/CD, infrastructure as code, or DevOps pipelines.
Familiarity with safety-critical or industrial domains, ideally railway systems.
Ability to balance long-term strategic goals with short-term deliverables and product iterations.
This describes you as a person:
Decisive, consensus-seeking execution:
Drive toward alignment, but when the team stalls, make (or elevate) the call and lock in clear next steps.
High ownership & independence:
Proactively identify what matters, take responsibility for outcomes, and deliver with minimal supervision.
Structured facilitation:
Run workshops/discussions so the right voices contribute, options are made clear, decisions are captured, and actions are assigned.
Leadership through clarity & standards:
Set direction, align stakeholders, maintain quality bars, and create momentum with strong follow-through.
Expert collaboration with prioritization:
Work effectively with senior specialists by combining respect with clear expectations and firm prioritization of business value.
Time-priority discipline:
You allocate your effort based on the role's mandate and business value; avoid over-investing in low-impact work.
